Of the 1,000 people who showed up, 240 models of different age, race, gender, shape and size were chosen. The first official Denver Fashion Week is one month away and with each passing day, anticipation builds and excitement grows. Ex-city leaders launch U.S. smart city consulting firm

The 1960s witnessed the birth of rock supergroups. And now the first smart city supergroup is launching featuring ex-rock stars of municipal U.S. government. An article on the State Scoop site reports on the formation of the CityFi consultancy by veteran leaders of such cities as Los Angeles, D.C. and Chicago. Ex-Kentucky judge enters plea deal in human trafficking case

NEWPORT, Ky. – A former Kentucky judge has entered into a plea agreement in a human-trafficking case. Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear’s office said in a news release Friday that 71-year-old Timothy Nolan will be sentenced March 29. Prosecutors are recommending 20 years for the 21 counts. The release said the agreement also calls for Nolan to pay $110,000. Nolan is a former Campbell County District Court judge. The news release says the felony charges he pleaded to include human trafficking of adults, promoting human trafficking of minors and unlawful transaction with minors. Canada’s GWL Realty Advisors Buys Denver’s EverWest

Yet another connection between Canada and Denver was established Friday with the acquisition of Denver-based EverWest Real Estate Partners by GWL Realty Advisors, the real estate arm of Toronto-based insurance company Great-West Life. Together, the firms intend to build an international real estate presence starting with a combined CDN $14.5 billion in assets. The move is the first into U.S. real estate for GWL.
